Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create an account to use the app?
No. Signing in is completely optional. You can browse restaurants, bars, dim sum, attractions, the MTR guide, and everything else without an account. Signing in simply lets you keep your favourites associated with your account.
How do I save a place to my favourites?
Open any place, dish, or attraction and tap the favourites icon. You can view everything you have saved in the Favourites section. Favourites are stored on your device, and if you sign in they can be associated with your account.
Why is the weather or typhoon information not loading?
Weather and typhoon signals are pulled live from Open-Meteo and the Hong Kong Observatory. If they are not loading, check your internet connection and try again. If the problem continues, close and reopen the app, or email us.
Are the currency exchange rates live?
Yes. Exchange rates are fetched from a live rates service and refresh when you open the currency tool. Rates are for general guidance only and may differ slightly from the rate offered at banks, ATMs, or money changers.
Are the prices and opening hours always accurate?
We work to keep content current, but venues change their hours, menus, and prices, and some may close. Please treat in-app details as a guide and confirm directly with the venue or an official source before you visit. For ticketed attractions, check the official site for current pricing.
The MTR or Star Ferry information looks out of date.
Network details can change. If you notice something that is no longer correct, let us know by email and we will update it in a future release. For live service status, always check the official MTR or ferry operator channels.
How do I report incorrect information or suggest a place?
We welcome corrections and suggestions. Email Support@zhujianger.com with the name of the place and what should be changed or added, and we will review it.
How do I delete my account and data?
If you signed in and want your account and associated data removed, email Support@zhujianger.com from the address linked to your account and we will process the deletion. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Does the app work offline?
Much of the curated content can be browsed with a connection, but live features such as weather, typhoon signals, and currency rates require internet access to update. We recommend having a connection for the best experience.
Which devices are supported?
The Hong Kong Guide app is built for iPhone running a recent version of iOS. For the best experience, keep your device and the app updated to the latest version available on the App Store.
